Brand Journalism

This article was written about the Top 10 Red Flags to watch for when dating. The main objective of this article was to find a topic that relates to the organization we chose for the semester. I picked this topic because I was writing for a domestic abuse non-profit. The main challenge of this article was that we could not mention what organization we were working for because the article was not written to promote the non-profit.

Social Media

The social media packet had me writing post for different platforms in order to boost the organization I was writing for. I had to find copyright free image, link the post back to the website, and also making sure to linked the images back to the photographer.

For this article I got to interview someone I didn't know and learn about their lives for my assignment. I selected a women who was both a full time bus driver for the DTCA and a student at a local community college.

For the media release because the organization I had wasn't doing anything during that time I wrote about one of two scenarios. The scenario I picked was about a construction company in a made up town. For this assignment I had to sum up the information that we were given into a media release. Then I had to construct a media list of real journalist in the area that would be interested in the piece and I also drafted a email pitch to one of them.
